John Moller

Owner

John was born and raised in Dutch Harbor, Alaska.  He began his commercial fishing career at the age of 7; which led him to skipper crab boats in the Bering Sea at 19. John was involved in fish policy and the regulatory world for several years. He began his own commercial fishing operation, gill-netting in Southeast Alaska with his children. The operation has expanded over the years.

Jennifer Moller

On Shore Operations

Jennifer was born and raised on Whidbey Island, Washington. She met John while commercial fishing in Dutch Harbor. Jennifer is the book keeper for MoFish Seafood as well as keeping the crew fed and supplied as we spend the summer and fall fishing. 

Carley Thayer

Deckhand, Marketing

Carley began her fishing career at the age of 12. She loves the intense hours and hard work that is required. Carley is the head of marketing for MoFish Seafoods. She has 1.5 year old son, Ivan.

Shane Moller

Deckhand, Engineer

Shane began his fishing career at the age of 9. He enjoys the quality time with the family. Shane recently graduated with is degree in Engineering. 

He has officially retired and hung up his grundens however, we still call on him and is shrimping this 2020 season! 

Mikiah Bay Moller

On Shore Opperations

​Mikiah Bay was born in 2001, she had serious complication at births and has significant developmental delays.  This has led to a wonderful and exciting life. Mikiah Bay is the name of our boat. She can't come fishing physically however, she is always with us! We love our Mikiah. 

Ian Moller

Deckhand

​Ian, the youngest of the clan; was born for the ocean a natural fisherman. He has commercial fished since he was 3 years old. He is now the primary deckhand and fishes all summer long.

Our boat

​John bought the Mikiah Bay in 2002. It began commercial fishing in 2006. Over the years many improvement have been made. We love our boat and enjoy spending every summer on it!
